1 Jul 2009 Zouk Club KL has announced that it will take some unprecedented steps in educating clubbers, customers, business partners and colleagues in the prevention of flu. The campaign simply called, The FLU PREVENTION AWARENESS CAMPAIGN will take effect 1st July 2009. Another aim of the campaign is to put in preventive measure to protect the safety and health of the customers, visitors and staff which is especially poignant at a time like this where the news of the H1N1 flu is all over the media . The steps taken here are certainly the first for any club and probably one of the first companies in Malaysia to voluntarily go to these measures. “According to reports, the H1N1 flu virus shares about the same statistics as the seasonal flu. However as a responsible club operator, we felt that it was in the interest of all our customers, visitors and staff that we put in some clear and concise preventive measures. We are also going to take this timely opportunity to educate our clubbers and staff alike about how important personal hygiene is in respect of the spread of this problem. I truly believe that together we can make sure Zouk KL is a flu free zone and can be enjoyed by everyone!” Cher Ng (Executive Director, Zouk KL) Preventive and Awareness Measures are being taken over two levels. 1. Club Level a) All customers entering the club will be temperature tested. Anyone found to have a high temperature will not be allowed entry into the club. b) Public awareness posters and banners will be placed throughout the club to educate clubbers on proper hygiene. c) All soap dispensers will be equipped with anti bacterial soap. d) The club's high traffic areas will undergo regular disinfecting cleaning cycles to minimize any risk from contamination. 2. Company level a) All day and night time staff to be temperature checked upon clocking in for work. b) Any staff found to be having a high temperature will be sent home immediately and asked to see a doctor. c) Staff training and briefing on proper personal hygiene to be undertaken. d) Stocking up on hand sanitizers, flu kits and face masks should the need be to deal with someone found to have the flu. The Flu Prevention and Awareness Campaign is meant to be an educational, informative and preventive action taken up by Zouk KL. These steps are there to highlight the problem at hand.
